My first impression was that these brought me out of suppleness, coziness, and spontaneous.  Make these impressions; I have spent quite a time trying to keep a lid on them. Moreover, these works seem too based on my feeling over intellect.  I say that because symbolic forms and shapes look so natural and flooding: No dramatic or explosive transition. However, the subtle change of shapes and palette makes these pieces down the earth feeling.  I do not see any transparency at all, but I do see the opaqueness. I guess I use this technique deliberately because this subtle change of palette and constant short brush strokes are all over the canvas which is well blended without against between background and foreground.

On the other hand, I can see a strong cohesiveness in my works from 2011 to 2016.  This cohesiveness comes from similar palette choices, constant short brush strokes, and enveloped with rounding shapes of your figure and patterns.  In the past, I'm often combined landscape background and figures in foreground such as human and animal. From that perspective, I found out there are gradual changes from portrait at UMN to portfolio to apply in MFA to current works. Especially, I can see significant palette changes from my recent works that are more down the earth tone. I am not sure whether it is temporary or permanent change. At the same time, the shapes of figure are smoother than earlier works, that I usually saw sharp edges in my works at UMN, especially from abstract portrait.

Nonetheless, I cannot imagine what types of my work I face in the near future. However I will paint forever until end of my life.
